Acer 7738G Upgrade Guide -- Adding a Second Hardrive

Safety note:
Unplug laptop and remove battery before opening your laptop. Earth yourself off a metal radiator to remove static charge from your body. I do not take any responibility for damages directly or indirectly by using this guide.

Parts:
The crucial part numbers. Please find below the detailed part numbers which were written on my parts when they arrived. These part number should help you get the exact part you need even if your acer supplier is not knowledgeable on these specific parts.

Second harddrive cover:
The second hardrive cover must be replaced as the stock cover is slightly smaller.

The bracket is needed to hold the hardrive inplace securely

Step 01:
Take your sata connector and attach it to your new 2.5 inch sata hard drive. Do this by aligning the connector on the hard drive connector and gently push down with even pressure.

Step 02:
Flip the laptop and have a look ate the backside. On the bottom left hand corner you will see a compartment with two screws.
Remove these two screws and and remove the cover.

Step 03:
Place hard drive in bracket and place in the laptop with the bracket facing the laptop. Genlty allow the connector on the hard drive slot into the connector on the laptop. Place the new hardrive cover over the hard drive and screw in the two screws to secure the hard drive.

Conclusion:
I now have two hard drives installed. I hope this guide helps.
